The safe 2020 program is a complementary and coherent initiative to FO4ACP, designed as direct response to the COVID-19. It has objective of addressing the identified needs of farmers in terms of input supply and basic assets, e-commerce, digitalization, information and advocacy to position Farmers Organizations in the decisions and measures taken by governments. The Grant is financed from a contribution from a stimulus mechanism for poor rural populations called the “Rural Poor Stimulus Facility” (“RPSF”), an IFAD initiative that aims to restore livelihoods in rural areas more resilient in the context of the crisis, by enabling populations to have timely access to inputs, information, markets and liquidity. The program implementation will start in 2021.
