Promoting Knowledge and Use of Innovation Uptake

Following on previous work by PAFO and partners, it is proposed to map FOs-led innovations which contribute to optimized production and efficient markets and also discuss emerging innovations and technologies of potential interest to the FOs which could lead to increased investments. Thus, PAFO and COLEACP propose a series of 2-hours short sessions each two months aimed at increasing awareness and use of existing innovations led by Farmers Organizations and SMEs across value chains; highlighting forthcoming innovative technologies and practices with potential for FOs and SMEs and Exchanging best practices and successes across regions in the continent and with the EU.

This is a new learning series on innovations and successes of agribusinesses and farmer-led SMEs in Africa that will discuss new approaches and good practices in the agri-food sector. The idea is to highlight the key role of farmers as actors in the private sector in supporting sustainable, resilient food systems and in providing healthy food for consumers.

The first session will take place on November 19, 9:00 am-11:00am (GMT), and will focus on “Increasing Market Opportunities through Value Added and Branded Products.” Agenda details, speakers and registration will follow shortly.
